About the race

In form driver Sebastian Vettel has already won five races in a row and overall has won ten races in this season which means that he has also won the world championship of this year.  Vettel leads the table with 322 points which is a massive 115 point lead over his next competitor Fernando Alonso who has 207 points. Alonso from Ferrari has managed to win just 2 races till now and that clearly show the supremacy of Vettel in this season. Next is Kimi Raikkonen from Lotus who is at third with 183 points and Lewis Hamilton from Mercedes is at fourth position with 169 points and both with just 1 win each in this season.

Talking about Vettel, he has won the race here twice, the inaugural season in 2009 and next year 2010. He is being compared to Michael Schumacher now and there are chances of him breaking a few records of he wins the race here. In 2012 he had secured third position but this time he would like to take the top position continuing his form.

Ferrari’s Fernando Alonso who is at second position in the racer’s standings was also second in 2012 race but has never won a race here. Even if he wins he would not be able to beat Vettel but it will surely give him the required boost and also a record of winning the race in this track.

Kimi Raikkonen of Lotus has won the race last year in 2012 for the first time and he would also like to improve his ranking by winning this race as well. he may not be able to overtake Alonso but still will get quite close to him and can look to change ranks in future races.

Lewis Hamilton who is at fourth currently has always performed strongly at the track though he was a bit unlucky when he was robbed of victory in 2009 and 2012 due to mechanical failures. However he managed to win the race for McLaren in 2011 and he would like to try the same this year as well and give tough competition to Vettel.

Talking about the Constructors’ standings, Red Bull continues to lead the table with 470 points with the help of Vettel’s wons mainly. The next placed Mercedes has 313 points which is a massive gap of 157 points and it does not look at all that the same would be able to be bridged in this season. However the difference between the third placed Ferrari and Mercedes is very less with a margin of just 4 points and it would be an interesting competition between the two sides to see who comes on the second spot.

Our predictions

Sebastian Vettel clearly seems to be the favorite for this race as well with his current form and the fact that he has been crowned world champion for the fourth time this year. However we do feel that Fernando Alonso, Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton would like to spice up the race with their driving and could deliver a surprise and may deliver a surprise.

Overall it should be an interesting race with some records that may be broken in the event.
